Graduate School Positions
The Graduate School of Management and Information Systems Studies (GRAMIS) calls for applications for 24 months Academy of Finland funded graduate school positions (2 * 12 months or 4*6 months), starting July 1st, 2012. Eligible candidates should be registered (or have registration in progress) as doctoral students in one of the member universities of KATAJA. For those students who are not yet members of GRAMIS, the application for the position is also an application for membership into GRAMIS. The graduate school positions are primarily targeted at students completing their doctoral studies within four years. A pre-condition for receiving a graduate school position is full-time studies. The maximum funding period is four years (48 months). The candidate’s previous full-time funding for doctoral studies and progression rate are taken into account when the funding period is determined. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the preferred median age of the Graduate School’s students when receiving their doctoral degree is 32 years.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, May 31 st, 2012. The application, in free format and in duplicate (except for the short curriculum vitae and the research plan summary, four copies of which are required), must include:
If the candidate already belongs to another graduate school within KATAJA or has an application in progress for a graduate school position to another graduate school, he/she should tell it in the application.
The salary for the graduate school positions is based on levels of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the new salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee is paid a salary component based on personal work performance which will be, at most 46% of the job-specific component. The personal work performance component is to be phased in gradually depending on the implementation stage of the new salary system.
