Kurssikuvaus: The aim of the course is to help doctoral students improve their conference papers into journal submissions and to give an overview of the publication process. Lectures and workshops.

Pidempi kurssikuvaus: The course consists of lectures and small group sessions. Lectures are given on topics such as strategies for publishing, editorial policy of journals, the publication process, submission, responding to reviews, and resubmission process. Before the course start, the course participants are asked to prepare a refined version of a conference paper, which will be sent to reviewers and course participants. During the course, course participants and experienced academics will serve as tutors and discussants of the papers. Based on the feedback received, the course participants would then be able to develop their papers into a manuscript aimed for journal submission. Target journals are for example Accounting in Europe, European Accounting Review, Management Accounting Research and International Journal of Auditing. The course also includes some other assignments.

Kurssin tavoitteet: After having successfully completed the course, the student will understand the publication process and be able to develop the paper into a manuscript aimed for journal submission.

• A brief narrative on your writing and publishing experience (max. 1500 words).

Teaching approaches: Teaching will take the form of a combination of lectures, group work, student presentations and discussions. Students are expected to participate in all sessions of the course.

Course material: A pre-reading package of research articles or book chapters. More information will be provided after registration.

Kurssin arviointi: Study of literature. Written assignments related to your own conference manuscript and its revision (preparation of response letter). Review of other participants' manuscripts. Presentation and opposition in small group sessions. Further details will be provided after registration.
